Young Leaders Forum in Cairo

Leading Change Across the Mediterranean

19.11.2014 · C·A·P

The second meeting of this year’s Young Leaders Forum (YLF) took place in Cairo, November 5-9, 2014.

The main focus of the meeting was on the work of the YLF-working groups dealing with projects on evaluation, political consulting, community leadership and sustainability. Each of the working groups presented the status of their projects and the agenda for the next steps. Beyond that, the participants discussed recent developments and current affairs in Egypt, Tunisia and Germany.

In addition to the workshops, meetings with representatives of several Egyptian NGO and start-ups were organised who, for example, work on poverty reduction, health care, micro-credits and economic consultancy. Moreover the participants took part in two field trips to local NGOs that work in marginalized districts of Greater Cairo where they offer education to children and youths.

Last but not least the YLF-member also participated in a cultural program, including a boat-tour on the Nile and a visit of the Al-Azhar Park.
