As a first cooperation project between the Al-Yamamah University and the Ludwig-Maximilians-University a group of twelve Saudi students completes a three-week European studies program in Munich and Vienna. In the lectures and seminars at the Center for Applied Policy Research the students gain a broad overview of the political, legal and economic aspects of the European integration process and Europe’s role in the international affairs and the global economy. The program is organized in the framework of the Munich International Summer University (MISU) and also includes a stay the Austria Institute for European Security in Vienna.

In addition to the teaching program, the Saudi students also meet with students of the Geschwister-Scholl-Institute, the LMU’s department of political science  to discuss about politics and society in Germany and Saudi Arabia. Moreover, the program also includes various excursions and receptions, e.g. at the Bavarian Business Association and the United Nations Office at Vienna.
