Visit from the Chinese Academy for Social Science

On October 31, the C·A·P had the honor of hosting a visiting group from the Chinese Academy for Social Sciences (CASS). The main focus of the discussion round lay on the organizational structures and working procedures of university-based think tanks such as the C·A·P. Another important topic was the changing financial structure of research institutions towards a third-party based system. Michael Bauer, head of the Middle East Section at the C·A·P, gave the visitors several insights into the inner workings of the institute. He emphasized the importance of the C·A·P’s interdisciplinary approach, focusing on the interconnection of the three pillars of acquiring knowledge, developing skills and the extension of networks.
